Restaurants, Hotels & Beaches – what's happening in Mexico?

#PuertoVallarta #Mexico #NewRules

Restrictions, Restaurants, Hotels, Beaches and Gyms – what do they look like?

In today’s video I will share the news and rules announced last week that came in to the effect on January 8 here in PV and specifically apply in Jalisco state and as I later found out, in the state of Nayarit as well.

Jalisco and Nayarit are neighboring states in the Puerto Vallarta area.
Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romantica, 5 de Diciembre, Zona Hoteleria and Marina Vallarta just to name a few are located in the Jalisco state.
While Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerias, La Cruz and Punta de Mita are located in the state of Nayarit.

If you are planning on traveling to PV in January you want to make sure to watch until the very end to know what is expected for the state of Jalisco.

Restaurants- stay open but with 50% capacity and expected to close at 10pm.
Street vendors can stay open until 10pm as well.

Hotels should be at 50% capacity

Gyms are to stay open at 40% capacity

Large gathering at cinemas and concerts are canceled.

No mention of the beaches as far as I heard.

I am happy to see no changes at the Nuevo Vallarta beach at this time and hope that it will not change.
This beach is located in the state of Nayarit.

If you are coming to stay in Vallarta for a holiday, these are definitely good to know changes.
I am not sure how the hotels will be handling this going forward, but I can see that Airbnb bookings may get busier due to the hotel capacity changes announcement.
So if you are planning a trip here but haven’t booked your Airbnb, it maybe a good idea to look in to that soon.

Also, I have not personally seen the decrease in people vacationing here and enjoying beaches and outdoor activities, and we will see what future holds.

So here we have it friends, very important changes in the PV area!
I hope you found this information helpful…..

Wanting to get a taste of the local culture, those friends treated us to an authentic culinary experience in old town Puerto Vallarta, led by the local experts at

In this episode, we take you along on our 3.5-hour walking taco tour of the city.

We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil’s ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week—from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.

Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline—it’s just the new, global way of life.

Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.

We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities.
